Proverbs 12:18
There are some whose uncontrolled talk is like the wounds of a sword,
but the tongue of the wise makes one well again.
Psalm 34:4-8
I sought YAHWEH, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him, and were radiant.
Their faces shall never be covered with shame.
This poor man cried, and YAHWEH heard him,
and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of YAHWEH encamps around those who fear Him,
and delivers them.
Oh taste and see that YAHWEH is good.
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
Isaiah 66:1-2
Thus says YAHWEH,
Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool:
what kind of house will you build to Me? and what place shall be My rest?
For all these things has My hand made, and [so] all these things came to be,
says YAHWEH, And unto this one I look,
unto the humble and bruised in spirit,
and who is trembling at My word.
1 Samuel 16:6-7
But YAHWEH said to Samuel, "Don't look on his face, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: [God's] view is not man's; man takes note of the outer form, but YAHWEH sees the heart."
Luke 16:15
And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.
Luke 18:9-17
And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
“Two men went up into the temple to pray,
one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
“The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself:
‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers,
or even like this tax collector.
‘I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’
“But the tax collector, standing some distance away,
was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven,
but was beating his breast, saying,
‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
“I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other;
for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them,
but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them.
But Jesus called for them, saying,
“Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
“Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”
